Virtual phone system: frequently asked questions
What to know before replacing your phone system.
What is a virtual phone system?
It is a business phone system hosted in the cloud instead of installed on your premises. It does everything a traditional PBX does (call answering, call routing, queues, voicemail), but you manage it from a browser. Your team makes calls from a computer, a mobile or an IP phone.
Virtual phone system, IP PBX, legacy PBX: what is the difference?
A legacy PBX is a physical switchboard connected to traditional phone lines. An IP PBX carries voice over the internet; installed on site, it is still equipment to buy and maintain. A virtual phone system, or cloud PBX, is an IP PBX hosted by the provider: nothing to install, updates and backups are included, and you only pay for the extensions you use.
Can we use it outside France?
Yes. The system is hosted in France, but your extensions connect to it from any country over a plain internet connection: an overseas office or a travelling colleague uses the same line as headquarters. You can also connect your current carrier’s SIP trunk and keep your numbers and call rates with them.
Can a virtual phone system answer with AI?
Yes. The AI receptionist picks up for you, in English or French: it answers questions about your business, books appointments in Google Calendar or Outlook, transfers to the right colleague or takes a message. You place it wherever you like in the call flow: as the first greeting, outside business hours or when nobody answers.
How does the setup work?
You tell us what you need: number of extensions, phone numbers, trunk. We set up your phone system with you. Every extension works from a browser, a computer or a mobile, and desk phones configure themselves at power-on. If you keep your numbers, we handle the porting.
